Quilt Patchwork Patterns

Son getting married. need cute sayings for table-placed cameras & fabric blocks for quilt. Help!!?

My son is getting married in 1 week. I will be putting cameras on the tables for the guests to take pictures of nice goings-on at the table. I also need them to be returned to me so that I can have them developed while the kids are on the honeymoon (& not for the guests to take). I need help with a "cute" poem to put on the table with the cameras. I am also hoping to have pieces of fabric with permanent marking pens so guests can either "draw" something or write something (& sign) to the kids to help remember their guests & their special day. Hopefully, I will eventually make these pieces into a quilt or memory hanging. Any suggestions for a saying for this so that the guests understand the importance of this?

  1. " To make your part in (bride) and (groom)'s special day more memorable for the happy couple, there are a couple of projects we would like you to participate in: a) A Memory Quilt - Use the fabric and markers provided to write or display graphically your words of wisdom, best wishes, or marital advice for (bride) and (groom). Note: Keep it appropriate for their mothers to read! b) Photographs - Please use the cameras available on each reception table to take pictures that you think will be meaningful and important to (bride) and (groom). They can't be everywhere and tomorrow the memories of today will be a blur, so let's help them remember those special moments for many years to come. When the camera is full, please return it to (name) for developing. Thank you so much for helping make this day such a special one for (bride) and (groom)!"
  2. Disposable Wedding Camera Sayings Should you decide to place a disposable camera on each table in your reception hall here are a few sayings that you may want to print on a card beside them: `````````````````````````````````````````````````` Verse #1: To celebrate this special day, Pick a camera and really play. Leave it on the table when you are through, So Mary and John can develop the pictures taken by you. `````````````` Verse #2 Take this camera and have some fun Get some pictures of everyone! Maybe you'll see something We didn't see that we can keep as a memory! ```````````` Verse #3 I'm your camera - so have some fun, You'll make this album a special one! Snap away as best as you're able, Then leave me on the gift table! ======== We did this at my daughters wedding and decorated a large bowl on the gift table for the cameras to be put in.........was fun seeing the candid shots...
  3. Just a hint about writing on fabric. You may want to make a frame of some sort so that the writing doesn't go into where the seam will be. I used a manila file folder cut to the size of the block with fine grit sandpaper glued on the inside and cut the front of the file folder out to leave a square 1/2" smaller than the block to make the frame. Place the fabric inside the frame to write on. The sandpaper underneath the fabric will keep the fabric from slipping as it is being written on. This will also protect the table covering from the marker bleeding through. Before you sew the blocks together, be sure to press the blocks with the hottest iron setting the fabric will stand. This will heat set the ink into the fabric and prevent running when it is washed.
  4. It will be very helpful to iron some wax paper or other stablizer on back side of cloth for your guests to sign. It stablizes the fabric. Make sure the pens are for FABRIC. Perhaps a big basket saying "For Wedding Picture Cameras from Table" or some such title so guests know where to turn them in after the reception? Good luck!
