son getting married. need cute sayings to attach to table cameras & fabric pieces (for wedding quilt)?
Son getting married. need cute sayings for table-placed cameras & fabric blocks for quilt. Help!!? My son is getting married in 1 week. I will be putting cameras on the tables for the guests to take pictures of nice goings-on at the table. I also need them to be returned to me so that I can have them developed while the kids are on the honeymoon (& not for the guests to take). I need help with a "cute" poem to put on the table with the cameras. I am also hoping to have pieces of fabric with permanent marking pens so guests can either "draw" something or write something (& sign) to the kids to help remember their guests & their special day. Hopefully, I will eventually make these pieces into a quilt or memory hanging. Any suggestions for a saying for this so that the guests understand the importance of this?

- Please help us create a special reminder of the day for Joe and Jill. Write your best wishes on this fabric square for a memory quilt. Take your best shot for their album. Thanks for sharing our special day! Table cameras are very common now - no one will think they are supposed to take them home. If you are really concerned about that, wrap and open-topped box, write table cameras on it in big letters and leave it on the gift table. Congratulations and have a good party.
- Please share your advice and well-wishes for the bride and groom. These squares of fabric will be made into a quilt for them to keep.
- I think the quilt is a beautiful idea, but if you didn't already BUY the cameras, skip them. You will not get anything useful out of those. Most people will bring their own digital cameras. A better alternative to the disposable cameras on the table would be to set up a "group room" on a site like snapfish. They are free. You could set it up in advance and leave cards with the link on the tables. Saying something like "we would love to see all of the pictures that our beloved gusets have taken. Please share them at www.____________" Since most people do have digital cameras, they are more likely to take their own pictures that they will definitely see, rather than using disposables, that may turn out bad and they may never see. I promise you that the cameras left on the tables will be full of dark, blurry shots... thumbs, bunny ears, kids taking pictures of odd things like the floors or walls, people sticking out their tongues, etc. My husband's cousin had them at her wedding. She got nothing. We brought our digital camera and didn't take any pictures with the disposables. At our wedding, I set up one of the share websites and several people shared their pictures. I got hundreds of beautiful shots of the church and tons of candid shots that the professional didn't catch. (Although the pro pics were great too) And everyone who logged on to the site could see everyone else's pictures and had the option to get their own copies printed if there were any they wanted. When you sign up for snapfish, they often include 20-30 free prints and the quality was really nice.
- SKIP THE CAMERAS!!!! I did that - $200 later (between the cameras themselves and the developing) I got only 1 picture I'd show anyone...I can tell you that I have LOTS of pictures of people's behinds and penises. AND I had a place to put them afterwards and still lost 3 that didn't make it in the box. Another side of this is everyone thinks you want pics of things you get anyways from the professional - cutting the cake, first dance, dad/daughter etc. If you wanted those pics from the disposables you wouldn't hire someone to take them for you. I love the quilt idea - make sure you have 2 - 3 pens per table though - people will lose patience and skip it if they have to wait for 8 people to use the same pen. make sure the fabric is light enough to read the messages. good luck!!!
