Quilt Patchwork Patterns

can you help me find fabric to make quilt for daughter?

hi i want to make my own quilt covers for my daughters cot/bed as i can never find any i like. I need help in finding fabric (not too expensive) to find them and i was wondering if anyone could recommend anywhere. cotton or jersey would be best i live in b'ham uk so uk stores or web sites would be best. Any help would be apperciated. Serious answers only please

  2. Hi, How about making a traditional patch work quilt cover? Have a look in the library or on the internet, but it's very easy and you will be recycling old materials! Good luck.
  3. My Mom made a quilt cover for my daughter quilt out of sheets. I can take out the quilt and just wash the cover. She used buttons to keep it closed. I hope this helps you.
  4. use stuff outta your closet that you dont want anymore . i have a quilt that was handed down to me and it was hand made by my great great grandma and it is made from differant pieces of clothes my gggrandpa had it means a lot
  5. EBAY Uk site is a good thought for you. I buy on the US site all the time and there are great deals to be found on fabrics.
  6. Well I use Abakhan's in Stoke on Trent for fabric as they always have good deals and plenty of choice and they have a website too, www.abakhans.co.uk But have a look in your local yellow pages to see if there any other fabric stores closer to you.
  7. Why not use clothes they have outgrown? It would evoke memories of different times in their lives.
