How to print a quilt label on fabric using computer?
I want to print out a label on a quilt with words and photo, using my computer and inkjet printer. How do you print on fabric, and what do you do to set the ink so it won't run or fade?

- You can buy fabrics for printing on or make your own. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=129537.0 or use this method http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=40044.0
- Staples and Office Depot...both online...or make a stop at one...Staples sells a package of the printable fabric....I would think they come with instructions..... The first answer is also wonderful...they left that link the other day...and I spent hours reading all the stuff on Homemade 'Bubble Jet' printing......awesome info on that site....
- Printed Treasures by Milliken is one of the best pretreated fabric sheets available. It's washable and doesn't fade much. All you do is put it in the printer one at a time (like photo paper). IMPORTANT: Run your printer's dpi (dots per inch) up to at least 600-1200 or more to get better color saturation on the fabric. It usually defaults to 300 and you image will not be good. Sue
- Hi there and i do have a suggestion for printing on fabric with your PC. If you goto your favorite fabric store or Joann fabrics they do have printer fabric for just such an item. But... you need to make sure that if you buy the fabric sheets you will want to make sure that it contains in the fabric that permanent sealer for when the ink dries after printing. If it does not have that chemical you will need to buy it seperately and it should be right next to the fabric printer sheets..I hope this helps out. Brent
- Hi Laura, I like to be creative and do my own labels from scratch. It's easy using simple freezer paper and your computer. I did a photo tutorial on this on my quilting blog http://with-heart-and-hands.blogspot.com/ ...use link on the right column or go directly to: http://with-heart-and-hands.blogspot.com/2008/01/freezer-paper-photo-transfer.html Be sure when printing to check the printer command for 'mirror image' so it is readable once you iron it on! Have fun!!!
