- The absolute best site for quilt blocks is Quilter's Cache. She has over 1500 blocks, with detailed cutting and piecing instructions. Best of all, it isn't loaded with junk ads. The down side to Quilter's Cache is that it doesn't provide cutting and piecing info for entire quilts - just the blocks. That's fine for an experienced quilter or someone who is good at figuring things out on their own, but it is a bit more difficult for beginners or those who prefer to follow a complete pattern. Still, it's got some fabulous blocks, many of which are original. The link to the main page is below - click the drop down that says "Where do you want to go today?" and select "Quilt Blocks Galore." For full quilt patterns, try the websites of fabric companies and quilting magazines. Both provide free patterns (especially the fabric companies - they want you to buy their fabric to make that exact quilt). Both have few (if any) ads and other junk.
