- You could make the lace the trim around the quilt by adding extra if you need to at any fabric store you can find it cheap. You can cut the organza into squares and buy extra fabric the color of your bridesmaids dresses. I would put a couple pearls in the middle of each square and embroider the shape of whatever flower you had in your bouquet around it. Like if you had daisies, embroider a daisy pattern and the pearls would be the center of the flower.
- You could cut different shapes that leave the buttons in place so they become part of the design. Back everything with iron-on interfacing and then attach the different pieces to each other in whatever way looks nice. They don't have to be perfect squares or rectangles, just have to have straight edges or be sewn onto a piece that has straight edges. Here's one I made for a customer. I used pieces of the gown and lace, plus her guests' signatures and then added other antique linens that she sent along with the gown. She wanted photos, and ribbons painted with her inspirational words. so I made fabric strips to look like wide ribbons and painted the words on with fabric paints. The quilt is dry-cleanable. http://kathyannscottage.com/taliaferro0019.JPG http://kathyannscottage.com/taliaferro0018.JPG http://kathyannscottage.com/taliaferro0016.JPG http://kathyannscottage.com/taliaferro0015.JPG http://kathyannscottage.com/taliaferro0007.JPG .
