Has anyone here made a baby quilt?
I am wondering what would be a good size to make for a year old child. This will be my first attempt and I have no pattern.

- i say twin at least.
- make it the size of toddler bedding. its perfect to still cuddle and wrap in but not to big and bulky you'd be afraid they would get lost in it :) walmart actually had some pretty ones there last timei looked :)
- I'd say 45 x 45" or 45 x 60" is good. Fits a crib or toddler bed very well. Good luck!
- When I was pregnant my sister went to Walmart and got a kit to make one. All she had to do was sew the squares together. It looked like it would be cute...but, my daughter is 6 months and the blanket is still not done haha.
- Just FYI at craft and fabric stores you can often buy "quilt kits". It's basically all the trim and squares you'll need and a pattern outline. They come in various colors and patterns. I'm going to buy one but I'm going to make a smaller one that my daughter can use as a security blanket.
- I love the Warm Wishes pattern. It is available free (link below) and gives great directions for the quilt at 38.5 inches by 49.5 inches. This pattern is so fast and easy but looks really impressive. Pick a theme fabric and three coordinating but contrasting fabrics and sew it up!
