Does anyone have pattern for a quilt block of a baby cowboy with a stick horse? I saw this years ago at a quilt show. The blocks were appliqued, Sunbonnet Sue style. A baby in a diaper wearing cowboy boots and Dads cowboy hat, down over the ears hiding the face, in profile, astraddle a stick horse.

Baby quilt. Can I have your opinion about these colors? I am making a baby quilt with "cowboy colors". Deep brown Canberry Rich gold Medium hunter green These fabrics make up a four patch and have slightly different patterns but all of them have a Swede look. (100% cotton) They will be off-set with a medium light swede looking green. (This gives it a very "cheery" up-beat look) I think it looks very sharp, but my daughter thinks it looks too "old" for a baby. Do you think I should make one with common little boy colors instead? Just needing some opinions. I know its hard without actually looking at it, but .........tell me what you think. OH, it is for a baby boy. I want to thank EVERYBODY for you input. I will continue on the path that I begain. I may use a cowboy print on the boarder and for the back of the quilt as well!!!
I want to make a quilt out of my daughters baby clothes. like pieces. anyone have a pattern etc? I had this thought in my head i know its probably not original but if its not that is ok maybe someone can show me how. i want to take pieces of my daughters outgrown baby clothes you know the special things and make a quilt. now i was thinking of a bigger square as the back ground and a smaller square in the middle with the baby material. now i have watched quilting shows and they just usually put sides on the square to make it look like a bigger on the bottom but is it ok to do it the way i said? oh and i have never made a quilt but have watched my mom for years and no i cant ask her for help. Need help making baby quilt...? I am trying to make some baby quilts but need some help remembering patterns to use. The first is a rag quilt--any directions in making a very simple 36x30 baby quilt? Size of squares, directions after cutting squares, etc.? The second idea is for a simple front/back quilt. I will do a pattern on the front side and the solid color on the back. Are there any specific ways to do this? Third-use squares on the front and solid on the back. Directions? Help! I am NOT a sewer by any means but would like to try making some quilts. THanks!!!

Looking for patterns to decorate baby room in?? My idea is to find nature patterns, trees, birds, flowers, etc. and enlarge them, then make them life size paper pieces and put them on the walls. Does anyone know a good website to get patterns like that? All I can find are quilting patterns...

about making a quilt for my baby? Ive never actually sewn before. but i assume its pretty basic. all you need to know is to be even pattern, right? im making it out of her baby cloths. it is going to be part of her 1st birthday gift from me. i know that you need the front, and the backing and the batting. but what is better, squares, or it being in different shapes? i know squares would be easier. but i want it to be pretty. thanks!
whats a another good color for a baby girl? i'm making a baby quilt for a couple who are expecting a girl. so far i have pink yellow and purple on the front. its a square pattern. i need a color for the back of it. i was thinking using a flannel fabric. would that be bad for the baby?
When hand tying a quilt, is there a pattern or sequence 2 follow? I mean like tying it every 2 feet ?? Do you start in the middle of the quilt and go from there. I am planning on appliqueing baby clothes (six) 2 and 2 and 2. Can you still tie if the baby clothes are in the way? Thanks for any help.

Please tell me how to make a quilt of old baby clothes-just squares, nothing fancy.? Please help! I have all these baby clothes that I don't have the heart to donate (they are the ones I couldn't part with) and instead of keeping them in storage I'd like to make just a simple square quilt with all of them. Can you please send some simple instructions? I have a sewing machine, and can only really sew a straight line and really don't know how to use a pattern. Does anyone know where I can download a pattern for Dora the Explorer quilt? My kids stepssister has a 3 year old who wants a Dora the Explorer blanket for Christmas, and she really can't afford one. So we thought we'd make her a quilt. (the first we being my kids, the second being me!) They are going through a really tough time right now, with her husband being injured, and her just having another baby they really can't afford any Christmas this year. Baby car seat cover?? I want to make a car seat cover and matching diaper bag for my neices, but I was wondering what colors and fabrics do they use on them. The pattern I got said quilted fabric but I did not find any that looked pretty for the cover. What do you new mother like for your babies, fabric,color, and texture. The diaper bag should be easier to do after I choose the car seat cover, but do any of you have a though on what is now in style? Thank you, one neice is having a girl and the other a boy. Baby shower homemade gift help!? I am going to a baby shower soon for a family member who is having a boy and i want to make something. I wanna knit it on a knifty knitter or sew it. I can do embroidery but i am not perfect at it. I need it to be cheap cause i am young. i will read any suggestion and answer any questions you have as long as they are not personal.I also do cross stitch. i know how to quilt but that is a lot of money. How do I make a quilted yoyo doll? I know how to do the yoyo's and I know you string them up and all, but how about a pattern for the face or how to attach the head to the strung up yoyo's. I've never done it before and I want to make one for my baby, any help or advice is appreciated.
Do you have little quirks about your fav hobby? I was just curious how many of you out there have little quirks about your fav hobby? Like for example, my very fav hobby is cross stitching prequilted, prestamped baby quilts. When I start them I ALWAYS start working on the outline of the pattern first, then all the stain stitch, & french knots, that way after all that I only have the x's left to do. I used to not only do all that, but when all that was done, then Id go & do all of 1 color through the whole quilt, but I now do only 1 area after all the outline, satin stitch, & french knots are done. And I ALWAYS make sure my hands are super clean when I work on the quilt. I want to know its super clean when i work on it. If there is a stain on it, (that is if its not on the pattern), I use those colorx bleach pens to get the stain out, before it has to be washed. PLus, if its blood for example I use proxide (helps boil out the blood), & then the bleach pen. But I only do the baby quilts that are white to begin with, that way that way none of the colors fade. Also I am my WORST critic, if it dosnt look right, i take out what is done, & start back over again, till it looks right. What are your little quirks about your fav hobby you do?

First time quilter, I need help? As far as sewing goes I am definitely a beginner, but as long as I have step by step directions of whateber I am doing I can sew it. I have sewed my daughter a few blankets and also a pillowcase dress. But I am ready for a bigger and better project. My cousin is due with her 1st baby in August, we are planning a shower for her the middle of July, which means I have a month and a half to complete my quilt. I wanted to make her a quilt because for one I just enjoy the being able to give somebody something that for one didn't come form wal-mart and two they can cherish and know that it was handmade. I have read online a few on different sites but I have a few questions on some. What is a scant seam? If I want to make just a simple bock quilt made up of around 24 squares (I don't have a pattern) How do I go about measuring how big my blocks need to be etc...? If someone could give me step by step instructions (quilting for dummies if you will) I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You
Quilting? Learning the basics? I want to make one for my baby when it gets here so I dont have time for elaborate details. I know what i want to do as far as pattern and color goes but i still need help with borders and stitching. Im going to hand stitch because i want it to be more personal and i dont like sewing machines. I know a simple stitch, enough to make a pillow or sew on a patch. Any help?
